Why do writers write?  I have often wondered if writers were the ones who could be intimate with the world when others could only be intimate with one or two others... through words of writers we share in the fantasy, the dream, the information, the vision, and the emotions.  Which brings me to Sintra and the world of Lord Byron, but first, Funchal, Madeira, Portugal.
